Orange County´s Newport Coast is the most recent addition to Newport Beach, California. Known by many as the ¨Pacific Riviera¨ for its climate and atmosphere, Newport Coast was developed in the 1980s. The affluent community, with a population of roughly 9,700, features everything from studio apartments to celebrity-owned mansions with ocean views.

Newport Coast is a master-planned community with 75 percent of its land open, such as Crystal Cove State Park, which runs through part of the community, or occupied by golf courses, such as the Ocean North-Pelican Hill Golf Course. The community stretches along the beach from Corona del Mar to Laguna Beach, and is close to many Southern California attractions and entertainment, as well as Newport Harbor, the largest pleasure boat harbor in the world.
The Resort at Pelican Hill features architecture inspired by Italian Renaissance architect Andrea Palladio. Its 500 acres boast a golf course, spa, and fine dining establishments. Villas at the resort are within close proximity to a private clubhouse and pool with butler service.
Newport Coast is within 15 minutes of Orange County’s John Wayne Airport and 45 minutes from the Los Angeles International Airport. With an average of 340 days of sunshine per year, it is a popular location for surfing, sunbathing, and hiking.
Newport Coast students attend schools in the Newport-Mesa Unified School District, which includes eight elementary, one middle and two high schools. The Sage Hill School, an independent secondary school, is also in the area. The University of California, Irvine is also nearby.

The community offers high-end residences in gated communities. Many feature exclusive ocean views and Mediterranean architecture, as well as indoor and outdoor rooms, terraces, and courtyards.
Homes in Pelican Crest, Pelican Hill, and Pelican Point developments are reminiscent of European grand villas. Homes in these developments often start in the $5 million dollar range.
The median listing price for Newport Coast homes in December 2012 was $2.9 million.
