For a city so close to Los Angeles, Arcadia is rich in natural beauty. The 127 lush acres of the Los Angeles County Arboretum and Botanic Garden dazzle visitors and residents alike as the campus is located near the San Gabriel Mountains. Skaters of all age take advantage of the 10,700 square feet of excitement at the town’s Bonita Skate Park. Nature enthusiasts rave about Wilderness Park, which has 120 acres of trees, plants and animals, in addition to a recreation area and small stream. Bicycling, a popular Arcadia past time, is a breeze due to the abundance of bike lanes and routes.

If you enjoy horse racing, Arcadia is for you: the city is home to the famous Santa Anita Park. With the art deco architecture and San Gabriel Mountains as a backdrop, Santa Anita Park is considered by many to be the most beautiful racing track in the world. Several world-renowned races occur annually at the track, including the Santa Anita Derby, the Santa Anita Handicap, and the Breeder’s Cup. For over 60 years, aspiring musicians and their fans have gathered annually in Arcadia for the Arcadia Festival of the Bands. Sponsored by Arcadia High School and its music club, this festival is well-known and attended throughout southern California. Arcadia residents also look forward to the yearly Arbor Day Celebration at the arboretum as well as winter’s Holiday Snow Festival.
