Among the many perks of all of these school districts is the Academy of the Canyons, a public middle college high school offered in conjunction with College of the Canyons. Students attending the academy are given the opportunity to earn college credit: diligent students could earn as many credits as needed to get an associates degree. Canyon High School is known for its award-winning performing arts and strong career preparation programs. Santa Clarita is home to three colleges: California Institute of the Arts, The Master’s College and College of the Canyons.

Canyon Country residents can enjoy nature and the outdoors on many levels. The beautiful Canyon Country park offers a covered picnic area, a playground, a baseball field and community center. Canyon Country is home to the Placerita Canyon Nature Center, a beautiful preserve rich in hiking trails, birds, vegetation and history. The city of Santa Clarita has a grand total of seventeen parks throughout the city for its residents to enjoy: parks range from an aquatics center to a skate park.
