The vibrant city of West Hollywood, California is located in Los Angeles County and is home to over 30,000 residents. Plummer Park has a popular playground, basketball courts, tables for chess, tennis and lots of green space. Kings Road Park is a neighborhood park with a playground, picnic tables and a waterfall style fountain; it’s the perfect place to read a book or let toddlers burn off some steam. Local dog owners give the William S. Hart Park and Off-Leash Dog Park four stars for its four-legged friendliness. Santa Monica Boulevard caters to an active restaurant and nightlife crowd; Sunset Boulevard’s Book Soup caters to bookworms and is one of the LA area’s leading independent booksellers. The Halloween Carnaval is a fun event in October for the young at heart to enjoy on Halloween; the carnaval is an eclectic mix of costumes, dining and live entertainment. Each fall, the West Hollywood Book Fair is an important event featuring local and national authors, readings, theater and music. The Sunset Strip Music Festival is an exciting 3 day event that features musicians such as Joan Jett. Pride Month is an important time in West Hollywood; in June the city is alive with celebrations, art and culture. The annual CSW Pride Festival is one of the nation’s largest and takes place over the course of three days. The annual Russian Style Festival celebrates the many locals who are of Russian heritage; the event features everything from music to dining and fashion.
